Advocacy & Safety - Bike Month and Share the Road kickoff in Atlanta

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
The Atlanta Bicycle Campaign will be leading a big kickoff to promote Bike Month and our Share the Road Campaign on April 28 at Atlantic Station.
Join hundreds of other cyclists in the festivities and activities. There will be prizes, FREE lunch provided by Fox Sports Grill, state and local officials, and much more.

The Governor's Office of Highway Safety has it on their website too. :)

Yes Pete. FREE FOOD and drink (non-alcoholic :( ) compliments of Fox Sports Grill at Atlantic Station.
As a further enticement, Mayor Shirley is "supposed" to be there along with City Council members, representatives from the Governor's office, and several other big wigs.
BTW: It has to be on a weekday. Politicians don't do weekends. :o

Well, I couldn't really come back to work full of beer! :D

I'm glad they seem to be putting their weight behind it. That's all good for us!

'Sollright. Mebbe I can take a long lunch hour. It's not far from my workplace, and I'll be riding my bike to work Friday, so I can roll up on my bent and be "legit." Hope the workload allows.
Might see you there, Ronnie!

Arghhh, I have to work to and I would feel weird about borrowing a car to drive down there during lunch to celebrate bike to work month. Maybe I can take a vacation day?
Pete and bikebuddha, I'll be looking for you.
I'll be riding my commuter. See my sig if you want to know what bike to look for. Or look for my tats. They may stand out in the crowd. :o :)

Sigh, it doesn't look like I can get off. :(

Call in sick. The weather is going to be awesome.
from our director: Please come as early as 10:30 if you can, but I know some of you will be squeezing this into your day as it is. If you arrive near 11am, I suggest you skip signing in at the registration table, and go directly to Ron's flag and Share the Road t-shirt (http://www.atlantabike.org/Share_the_Road_T-shirt01.jpg) station on the far end of the park near Rosa Mexicana restaurant. He will get you set up to be part of our colorful ride leadership team, if that's where you'd like to ride. The ride will start right after two proclamations and a few remarks from officials.

Well, what was it like, Ron?
I had forgotten that Friday was "Take Your Daughter to Work Day" at my job. So I drove in and ate lunch with my "bud." :)
