I think the state of Tennessee is doing a great job promoting bicycling. What do you think? www.tdot.state.tn.us/bikeroutes/routes.htm (http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/bikeroutes/routes.htm)

They certainly appear to be making an effort.

I wish them success. I lived in Knoxville for 3 years - the most dangerous cycling roads I've ever experienced. Narrow, twisting, hilly, no shoulder, potholed, congested - it was suicide.

You need to check out the "other Tennessee"! I live in the west end of the state. Gently rolling hills mostly flat land and most of the roads are well maintained. It's ashamed that more people around here don't ride bikes. I rairly see anyone out on the road when I ride or travel. I will have to admit that the scenery here in west Tennesse isn't as grand as in other parts of the state but it is swell bike riding.;)
