Hi, i did use the search button, but needed more info.
Anyway, i have just purchased a pair of suzue pro-max sb, but while spinning the axle on the front hub, it felt all crunchy or like something is loose. Also it sounds like something is rattling when i spin the hub holding the axle.
So is this normal? Does it need time breaking in after i have built it up? Or do they need adjusting or repacking? or shall i just send them back?
Any advice would greatly appreciated.:o

p.s the back spins nicely though.

If they're new, send them back.
Should be smooth as silk out of the box.

I have another question to ask about these hubs now...
On the back hub, when you roll the axle, the dust cap seals around the axle roll too.
Is this right?
Cos the ones on the front don't, don't. But that one is going back anyway.
Any info, would be great.

Cheers, beers and no gears.

Mine do not.
That's odd.

My Shimano 600 front hub has one side that the dust cap rolls and one side that doesn't. For the 600 at least it seems that the dust cap just sits there, and it will either roll or not depending on if it's easier to roll or to stay still. Dunno about the promax though.
