Aerobar type

Any rec's for an aerobar type?

I'm doing 3-4 Oly's this season (my first), and haven't modified the road bike yet, and am a middle-of-the-pack competitor. Profile's web page has so many deisgns, and I'm not sure the benefits of each. Leaning towards the T2's since it looks like your hand position cuts the air better, but maybe there's a trade-off in comfort? Don't have a ton of cash to spend -- thanks for the advice!

I have a pair that is still brand new that I will never use...I think they are Profile Design AirStrykes. (the one with the spring loaded arm rests). PM me if you're interested...maybe we can work out a deal.

Whatever you do, I would go with an adjustable set. That way you can get the proper extension on the bars. Profile makes the most common clip-ons you will probably see. The T2's are nice, and I could use them for very short distances, but it just felt like I was over extending my wrists. That's a personal comfort thing though and they may work well for you. Before I went to a dedicated tt/tri bike, I was using the Aerolites. I really like them, but if I had to do it again, I would get ones with flip-up arm rests because the rests kind of get in the way of the top of the bars if you climb like that.

What about control on the decents with the S-bend of the T2s vs. the more upright wrist position on the others? I'm thinking that if there's a significant amount of climbing, I'll probably ditch the bars anyway and stay with the traditional road set-up.

i bougth the T2's about a week and a half ago and used them last saturday for a race. They are adjustable and i like how the bar ends do not point up. This past race was the first time i used aerobars and i won my division and came in 9th overall out of 122. thye made a huge difference for me. im still tweaking my bike to get a better fit, but its definately easier to go faster and longer with aerobars. awesome difference.
