Road Cycling - age poll?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

has anyone here ever done a survey of road rider ages? I tried to do a search but i couldn't because of the stupid word length limit (the word "age" is too short  ) i just don't want to repost something that's already been discussed.

anyways, i want to know what the distribution of rider age is.... around here it seems like everyone that rides is 30+. (I'm 23)

There was an age poll on the forums quite a while ago. I'm too lazy to go looking for it now though.

There was one just previous to this that lumped everyone 55+ into one category - a couple of us did not really appreciate that.

Do a search on "poll" and you will find the other one, also, I would guess.

yup i saw that one... but that's for everyone on the forum. i know that MTBers tend to be younger. So since it hasn't been done before, I'll do a road-specific poll. Here goes...!

I'll be 51 in April. I have 3 kids, ages 25, 20 and 16. I can ride the legs off of any of them. Usually feel about 28 on the bike. Now getting out of bed in the early morning I feel about 55;)

47, and when I gave blood a couple weeks ago, my pulse was 35. Maybe it has something to do with the 6000+ miles I rode this year. Anyhow, I guess it'll just keep getting slower until it just stops... then I die! :D

BTW, Happy 28th, sipperphoto!

Chronologically I'll be 51 in April, though emotionally I'm about 14! :D I figure if I never grow up, I'll never grow old - right?

Otherwise, married for 29 yrs, 2 cats, no kids. I'm investigating a cycling tour of Italy - ride and eat!
