LeMond Poprad 52 CM....to small?

Hello I ve recently run across a 2003 LeMond Poprad for a very reasonable price. My only main concern is that the frame is a 52 cm. My current road bike is a 56 cm. I m 6'0'' tall and skinny kinda a bean pole really. Torso, arms & legs all avg length or a bit above. Would this bike be too small? I will be primarly using it for around town type riding and a small amount of groomed trail riding. Let me know what you guys think

You probably could use up to a 59 (c-c), right? That sure makes a 52 seem tiny.

While I technicaly could ride a 58-59 cm road frame I don't. Mainly because I like my bikes just a little on the "small" side. I like the handling qualities, I feel the larger frames tend to be a bit more "sluggish" where as the smaller ones are a bit "snappier". This is all personal pref I know, But I know XC frames tend to run a little larger then the indicated frame #, because of the higher BB and all and I was wondering if you could consider a 52 XC a 54 roadie basicly. Lemond sizing is on the big side. I ride a Poprad it's a 57 fits good my lLemond road bike is a 59 fits good also and I am getting a Trek and it's a 62.

Isn't the Proprad essentially the what was Lemond's old steel frame, but with a different steel than the previous Reynolds 853 and a CroMo headless fork instead of a CF fork (and, bigger tires of course)?

If so, Lemond's steel frames (at least the 853) maybe could be called a little whippy (like any steel frame although I wouldn't think so in a 59 or smaller frame) but I wouldn't worry about it being sluggish. I have the 61c Lemond (853) frame and it's as lively as you can get!

Hey guys! New to the forum, but I feel I should chime in on this post. I'm 5'10 and I ride a 52 cm '06 Poprad disc. Fit's like a glove. My LBS informed me that LeMond's classic geometry frames do tend to be larger than indicated. Based on the info you provided, it sounds like the bike might me just a bit too small for you. Best thing to do is try before you buy, if you can. If it's an awesome deal, perhaps a longer stem will make for a better fit.

I'm 5'10" / 155 lbs and ride a 52cm '01 Gunnar. I've rode about 40 miles on a 55cm '05 Poprad. FWIW the Poprad felt a little big and the Gunnar is as small as I would want to go. I like smaller frames as well, probably because I started on MTBs.

Normally ride a 56cm road bike. I'm 5'11". I was fitted for my 'rad at a reputable shop. Fit is spot on. I was shocked to see it was a 52cm though. This was an '04. High bottom bracket and funky lemond sizing are to blame.

The Lemonds are a little big for their size, but I think a 52cm might still be small for you. I'm 5'9" and ride a 55cm Lemond. I'm mostly leg (~32" inseam), so standover was never and issue and I like a long bike. At 6' I'd try the size up before you buy. It doesn't matter how good a deal the bike is, if it doesn't fit it's not for you.

yeah id say thats too small, im all for sizing down one size for a cross bike, but that sounds like a lot to me.
