2004 Tour Armstrong Sprint?

Remember in the 2004 Tour when Armstrong sprinted at the end of a mountain stage to take the win? He started off way behind and you were sure he wasn't going to catch up, but he did and took it with his arms up and very excited. Anyone know which stage this was and where I could find a video? Thanks a lot.

I found out that it was stage 17 when Landis couldn't make the sprint for the win, so Armstrong wanted to get it. Do you know where to get the video?

you can get the DVD anywhere really. performance, wcp, etc. any bike shop that has videos would carry it too. or are you a cheap ******* and trying to view it for free? ;)

I remember stage 17. But he didn't start out way behind. He, Floyd, Jan, Basso, and Klöden were neck and neck for about the whole stage, then that last downhill, Floyd took off, and Jan and Basso attacked, so Lance took off and took that win for himself.

Good stage. I don't know if they're selling that on OLN or something.

I just want the ending for a bike club recruiting video clip. I think it's really motivating to go out and ride and has a lot of excitement.

If I recall Lance told Floyd to try to take the stage, Floyd started to descend like A FREAKIN BULLET, but Jan just hung with him the whole way down. Once it was obvious Floys couldn't shake him Lance put the hammer down and took the stage. Really good drama, great stage win.

Near the end of the stage Klooden jumped, and had what appeared to be an insurmountable lead. The OLN guys said Klooden has a stage win, but Lance managed to overtake him at the end.

It sounded like Phil was passing a stone the size of Alp d'huez calling that finish.

I also remember him saying most missed his face becuase he was riding faster than they thought and their timing was completely off because of it!!:D

Stage 17 - The final climb up the Col de la Croix Fry...the punishment was laid down by Floyd, and the only remaining players were Kloden (who was pulling Ulrich), Basso, and Lance. Floyd dropped everyone else. On the descent into Le Grand Bornand and the stage finish, Lance thought Floyd earned the win with his work up the Croix, so this is where the infamous advice "Run like you stole something, Floyd" happened. Floyd bolted, but was chased down by Kloden and Ulrich. Everyone was together with about a km to go when Kloden broke away. Floyd tried to chase, but was gapped. Kloden had nearly 200m on the remaining 4, when Lance seemed to be annoyed that Andreas was going to capitalize on Floyd's (and US Postal's) work up the final ascent. So Lance chased him down for the win.

There is a video of that on Utube.com. The title is no gifts. Just type those words or 'lance armstrong' and you would find it.

I think Lance said 2001 and 2002 where when he was at the peak of his powers but I think he completely owned 2004. He put in some amazing performances on the climbs and the team were amazing. I remember watching one stage on a Sunday (may even be the one we are talking about). It was a really crappy day in the UK and they had coverage of nearly the whole stage on Eurosport so I decided to stay in and watch it all. I was still fairly new to road racing and it was this stage that I got to see exactly how the team works, lots of climbs with 2 riders doing the work, dropping off then another 2 coming to the fore, with Landis finishing off.
