You really don't need one after a couple times you won't even feel the top tube resting on your shoulder.

I have never seen one in use either. I have seen them at various bike shops over the years but none recently.

If you can't find it, I have one I'll give you. It has a small tire bag built in. I haven’t used it for probably 25 or so years. After the third or fourth ride with the guys laughing at me I took it off because that hurt my ego more than the frame hurt my shoulder.

Of course today the bikes are 20 and change, so no big deal you say. But I am also in my 50's and a long portage can take its toll. I have in past crashes shattered both collarbones.

What I do now is use the towel I carry in my back jersey pocket, folded as a pad.
