Got a lead on a 1984 'Olympic 12' which I assume is a Nishiki. It's supposedly in 'excelent' condition, but needs tires. Comes with a car rack.....

The asking price is $100. This seems a little high......I got my Centurion Ironman for that much, and from what I've seen it's a much better bike. The Nishiki would probably be restored and given to an older friend who has expressed interest in riding recently, or converted to a fixie. Size is right, but I feel like the price is a little high. It's a yard sale, so I assume I can bargain some. If it really is in excellent condition, how much would it be worth? I couldn't find anything on ebay, but have found refrence of them selling around $150. Vintage bikes are hard to come by in my area, expecially in the right size, so I'm prone to jump when I see something promising rather than wait for the superb deals to come along.

I had an '86 Nishiki Olympic 12 speed that I upgraded to 16 speeds, new wheelset, etc. Awesome riding bike. Super smooth. The 4130 made it a little on the heavy side. 22.5 lbs with an ISIS or similar lightweight crank. I finally listened to my testicles when they repeatedly told me the bike was a little too big. They'd have to pry it from my cold dead hands otherwise. Good luck!
