Hi All-

Just got 2006 GF Tass and I hate the cheap Deore shifters. I have 10 yr old grip shifts on my old commuter bike and they've worked flawlessly! I'm not sure which ones to get for the Tass. Searched here and on the SRAM site, but want to be sure. It's the 2:1 and the 1:1 that have me confused. I have m-511 Deore shifters and m-510 front derailleir and a m-571 rear. Which SRAM twisty shifters will fit? Rocket, Attack, MRX? Thanks!! -Dan

2:1 is compatible with Shimano. 1:1 is for SRAM 3.0 and higher or the SRAM X stuff

Thanks for the info. Now to buy 'em and begin with the upgrades!! Now if I can just figure out how the heck to use presta valves I'll be all set!!

I refuse to use prestas on my MTB. I had to drill out my wheels to allow shraeders but it's worth it. I hate those damn things.

My mini pump didn't even fit the prestas-had to buy a new pump just to add air! Is there a limit to how narrow a rim is that would prevent drilling? I may drill them out this weekend- I hate these valves!

i ended up drilling mine too. you can always still carry a presta tube as a "universal" tube to help out others on your ride. they serve as dual purpose tubes
