Thinking of doing PP this sunday and as I have never been to Brooklyn and thereby PP, does anyone have suggestions as to finding parking? Thanks.

there's plenty of parking spaces on the roads around PP, although i always rode to the races there.

I always parked on the street parallel to the race course by the start/finish. In many years of racing in PP, NEVER heard of anyone's car being messed with. Excellent place to race, cool crowd, good bathrooms, nice course.

maybe not cars, but a guy i knew had his bike stolen before the NYC qualifiers for the Empire State Games. IIRC he had to drop some ballast before the race, and when he came out of the toilet his bike was gone. Understandably he was pissed off, which proved to add some extra motivation in the race. He ended up winning it, on a borrowed bike none the less. Talk about road rage :D

Decided to do 2.5 hours of hill repeats yesterday to prep myself for the High point Hill climb this coming week. After deciding that, I knew I would be a middle of the packer at best this morning, and so just decided to sleep in and spin a few hours today. One of these days I will get out there, but not this weekend. Thanks for the advice. It sounds as though parking will be easy to find. I have heard that the course is rough. Is it a definite "use the strongest wheels" course? Just curious. Thanks for the advice. Hope to see some of you out at High Point.

don't know who told you that. the road was fine a week and a half ago when i went for a ride there with an old team mate.

the road is in very good condition. there is one bump down on the south end and if it rains it fills up with water down there, but 99.9% of the course is as good as you'll find anywhere. very smooth.

there were a lot of people racing this weekend. the fields were pretty big...like you'll find in the summer.

Cool, thanks. I was going to bring my DA wheelset, but it looks like I could use zipps both for acceleration and breakaways...yippee! Of course, that is assuming anyone would allow a break to go for more than 6 seconds without panicking!
