LOL. Any little bump and it's over for that lady. Even a crack in the sidewalk might be too much for wheels of that size.

Besides, its going to be too difficult to put disc brakes and a Rohloff on that sucker!

You do not need a bike (even a folding one) for the situation pictured above. A skateboard like the ones I used to own before my folding bikes for multi-modal trasport was much better.

Yes but people are always trying to invent clever ways to part people from money, when perfectly sound solutions already exist and in fact like in this case, evolved perfectly naturally out of the primeval swamp - eg, putting one foot in front of another and actually walking. That thing won't go faster than walking pace anyway without tripping over a discarded matchstick.

That now elderly British inventor nutcase, Clive Sinclair, is about to astound the world with another loser transport solution. It is a tiny wheeled folding bike along the lines of a pair of scissors with roler blade sized wheels.... I exaggerate - but only a tiny weeny bit.

Check it out boys:

or another of his amazing failures, the three wheeled electric assisted pedal car....

I'm still wondering why someone isn't manufacturing and marketing this (British idea from the late seventies):

Maybe because it's so damned ugly and was probably to be made of plastic. The sheer elegance of existing folding bikes like the Brompton or Dahons, and the fact that they're rather well engineered from normal and well accepted materials puts trash like the new Sinclair scissor bike with its stupid little six inch wheels or the monstrosity above right out of the running.

Sorry if that seems harsh, but I think it's the truth.

Super small vehicles in the United States are a recipe for disaster. There are far too many large SUVs and trucks on the roads right now. There would have to be a massive increase in the cost of gas (maybe $20 a gallon?) to have this country switch to vehicle efficiency rather than luxury and power. That, or we would need new infrastructure for small vehicle only lanes or roads. JMHO

Thanks Book & Scooper, I've added both to my list (will delve for more info on the Extrafoldable design btw)
