Does anyone know what size seatpost a 2000 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR originally came with. I have a friend who fixed one with a cracked post and during the welding process I think the seat tube shrank a little. The open end on the bottom measures about 30.5 mm while the top measures about 29.4.
I assume the seatpost size was originally the larger of the 2 - ie 30.5.
Thanks for your help

It was originally a 30.9mm seatpost.

However, Giant issued a 30.8mm seatpost for their NRS which works if your seattube has shrunk. The next size below that is the Supergo 30.4mm which isn't issued anymore. I did find Ritchey making 30.4mm seatpost replcements but they are rare.
Titec still makes a 30.9 posts: Either the Hell-Bent or the "Knock-Rrated" El Norte.
