BMX - redline supa x rims.....what do you think

like i have stated before i am getting BACK into freestylin,, and have forgotten all the old stuff which is obsolete now.. these rims i am asking about have alex chromed triple wall rims with redline sealed hubs.. and they are at a great price,,,,, i know that the tripple wall / and the chrome is a good thing,, just wanted to know if there is any negative feedback on this combo..

and what is it i should be looking for in a rim.... i guess one is a sealed hub,,,

I had that same rim/hub combo. Mine were sealed hub, but even if yours arent they are still awesome. I beat the hell out of, i even accidently ran them over with my Rodeo and they didnt bend a hair!!! Definatly some tough SOB's They were a tad heavy, but I didnt mind much. I give em an AAA+++

also just read a test report on the 990 dia compes which i thought were the best thing since sliced bread ,,,(back in the day) and i read about the odyssey evolvers,,, are the evolvers truly that much better...??? and do the 990's suck when using triple walls....

Ok, The Evolvers were made to seem a lot better than the 990's, but they really arent alllll that much greater. They ARE lower profile, which helps with scuffing in flatland so your not always hitting them, and they do come with the two spring tensions, but the "easier" springs dont even work all that great cuz they dont pull back good enough, so your pretty much stuck using the heavier springs, which is fine, but it makes the feature of having two different springs pointless. They seem to work a tad bit better than 990's, but not much. They do look cool though and were designed well.

So in short...Awesome Brake, but the hype made them out to be more than they are.

I havent had a problem with them on tripple wall rims, but if you do, just upgrade to bigger brake pads that are made specially for tripple wall rims, they just cover more surface on the rim and help with braking power.

,,,ok thanks for the quick response..... i cant wait to start putting all of this together and getting my fat butt out there riding again,,lol.. thanks i will probably just stick with the 990's and then just upgrade the pads...
