Question 1- Can I stll run a rear derailluer on this frame if I wanted to?

How do you all feel about replaceable dropouts? can they handle as much abuse as regular ones??

1. Looks like a pure single speed frame to me. I don't see derailleur cable stops and guides on the frame.

2. If you want to be able to run a rear derailleur, then get the newer version. The only downside to replacable dropouts is rear wheel alignment. Whenever a major part of the frame is bolted to another major part, the chances of mis-alignment increase with multiple removal and installation cycles. But it's esay to correct for with a bit of trial and error.

The first one is a single speed only. That's what the S/1 decal means on the frame. Can't run a deraileur on that one.

I doubt there would be any misalignment. Disc brakes have to be pretty precisely mounted and 99% of the time you can just bolt on the adapter and it's set. Plus, unless you actually break the dropout, it will never be removed. I can't even imagine why you would need multiple cycles of removal and installation of a dropout. However, I'd rather replace and align a dropout than buy and rebuild a new frame. There are a few guys at MTBR forums with the replacable dropout equiped rumble. You might want to ask there under the "custon builders and other manufacturers" forum for advice/personal experience on the replacable multi speed dropouts.
