I just purchased an Austro Daimler Ultima and I was wondering what the value was, the bike is a dark purple color, Reynolds 531 tubing, Campy SR components, I think I got a great deal on a really awesome vintage bike, any imput would be appreciated.

Well, I'd say you just got a fantastic bike! I've had my Ultima for over 23 years and it is still a great bike. Unfortunatley, all I got was the nos (1976) frame/fork/crank/headset. I paid a lot just for that in 1983, on a college student budget. The rest of the Campy stuff was gone, kept by the LBS owner, but I built it up nicely. Mine is purple, also, with gold pinstripes and lugwork. Enjoy your bike! I'm curious... how much was it and where did you find it? Can you post any pics?
Austrian bikes are junk. I'll dispose of it properly for you. :)

Hello Brian
I have several Puch (Austro Daimler) Ultima Bikes from different years in various styles. In Europe they are not hard to get and are sold around 200 Euros if the bike is in original and good condition. In the late 70´s and early´80´s manny bikes where inported to US. One of the Highlights is the 1982 Produced Ultima SL with Smoked Chrome finish made out of Reynolds 531 Professional Tubes. If you more interested in Puch (Austro Daimler) you may find my scanned AD Brochures in http://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalogs/AustroDaimler/

You should show Brian some pics of your bikes - they are awesome.
