Which do you guys think is better. A top loader stem or a front loader stem?

Frontload or die.

Top is a little slower to install the bars, but as long as it doesn't slip or you need to take the bars off for some reason it shouldn't be too bad.. IMO

Front loader + a pile of headset spacers = terrible

it hasnt slipped for me (u need to use a pole for leverage when tightening) and its not ugly, thats just your opinion

I just think that a Redneck or any other copy of the Redneck looks clean.

I also like the Fit stems, they look clean too.

yeh i agree that they look clean but everythings mainly based on opinion, i like stuff thats different (sometimes)

Yeah, i feel for the different stuff thing, and i ended up with ****ty parts, like the Shadow Chain, it sucks, and Primo Hollowbite Cranks (i hate them at least)
For the most part, cleaner looking, conventional looking parts are better....

Except for the Macneil seat and post, but they look clean...


That Odyssey stem, ive heard lots of storys about it slipping and being ulgy.

My Redneck has never slipped. Ive snapped a pair of Haro bars and they didnt move in the stem...(sure, you can say that Haro bars are weak, but im still suprise they didnt move in the stem...)

And there are no directions...

The only thing on it that someone could consider bad is the frame, which im gettin a new one soon...

And carbon may look "sick" but your the one that says it flexes alot.
