Anybody care to enlighten a non-photographer on how this is done? If it's just photoshop, I'll be disappointed.

He posted in the Fixie/SS photos thread, and it is Photoshop (or more accurately, the Gimp). Sorry to disappoint.

I've never ridden a Faggin, but I can just imagine what people call you when you are riding it.

No way.
Gimp is a great piece of software for free, but certainly not cheap.

I'm not saying the Gimp is cheap. People who use it (myself included) are. :D

Here's how you do it with no PhotoShop...

Ready...

Just have someone push the bike and let it roll into the frame then take the photo. Snap it. Then have another person waiting at the other end to catch it.

It may take a few tries, but it's possible.

I know of a guy that has taken some really nice photos of chairs seemingly balanced on two (of four) legs in an old hospital. Much arguement ensued about how he did it until he revealed that he had used super fine fishing line to "balance" them.

Those pictures look awesome. I think I might have to try that with some fishing line and see how it works out. It works for chairs anyways...

It would be best if you had a gimp push the bike and then another gimp waiting to catch it.
