First off, I have only been around here for about 6 months or so, but I am a forum junkie and I've been doing forums since the newsgroups were the only place to get info, even before the techno geeks had even thought of forums in this format.

This is one of the best forums I have ever been a member of, maybe not the biggest, but still one of the best. It's also the first one I have EVER contributed to financially, and I'm pretty careful how I throw my money around. This is a good one mainly because of the very diverse membership, and also because the admins have stayed pretty much "hands off".

I do have a small suggestion. I don't want to offend anyone who moderates here, but lately I have seen just a hint of too much activity by the moderators. Out of the long list of forums I am a member of there are a few that I don't visit anymore, mostly because of moderators who became a bit overzealous. At some other forums I have seen a lot of knowledgeable people stop contributing their experience for the same reason. And for the most part people come to these places to get information from other people. And a forum is worthless without knowledgeable people.

It's your forum Joe, but if I was the owner of this one I think I would:

-Keep the administrators anonymous.
-Delete any threads that got out of hand, with little or no verbiage or explanations.
-Add a sub forum to the mtn bike section: Downhill & Dual Slalom.

The rest is very easy to navigate and well organized. I will continue to hang around and contribute when I can, argue and aggravate where it's fun, and otherwise try my best to be a good member. Thanks again...

Personally I'd be happier to just see the spammers and the flamers kept away (we seem to have had a few of both groups hanging around here lately). I've watched a lot of newsgroups and other forums get totally out of hand with that sort of thing. Sure they may have knowledgeable contributions, but I don't think these are worth anything if you have to sift through a heap of other crap to get to them.

Personally, if people have an opinion, why can't they just express it without the need to attack other members on a personal level?
