Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - DT Swiss RR 1.1??

I'm considering getting the DT Swiss RR 1.1 rims. I weigh 150lbs and would be riding on the street often. Would these rims be good for me? What hubs? I've also considered the Velocity Deep V's but would like something lighter.

I weigh 210 w/ gear and ride the RR 1.1's. I've got em laced up to Phil fixed hubs and I love them. They built up very easily and they are holding up well to Maine potholes and frost heaves. Go for it.

i ride em off road on my 29er and they have been great. of they can take slamming into logs roots and rocks i think they should be fine on pavement.

I love mine, and loved the one I broke. I broke it running full speed into an expansion joint on a bridge, which at my back wheel, causing a pinch flat and cracked rim. It was no problem of the rim's, but it happened. anyways, the 1.1 is a really nice rim, and I would definitely recommend them.

The DT's are great rims, you will have no problems in either the build or the longevity of the wheel (barring major impacts). The same holds true for the Velocity's. So, it will be down to wieght and personal preference.

Thanx guys! My brother was asking if I want his Velocity Deep V's, but I really would like something lighter. If I have money I'll buy the DT's, if not I'll use his Deep V's.

they're pretty popular in there. and Mike is a great wheelbuilder.

the DT rims are really good. They are pretty much Open pros with a deeper profile, weigh less, and cost less.

There is a not a DT product I wouldn't recommend. The hubs, spokes, and rims are all the fcking shanty jam.

i have 2 wheelsets with the DT XR4.1, the mountain bike version of the RR1.1. awesome. ive built a 28hole RR1.1 rear wheel in december for a friend and its been excellent.
