Do you disassemble them and lube or do you use a grease gun? I don't have a grease gun and tried to use some sort of syringe but wouldn't go in. Maybe my grease is too thick?

The pedals come with a grey plastic disc that threads into the end of the pedal, and you squirt the grease through that. You don't have to take the pedal apart.
If you don't have one, I'll bet Crank Brothers would send you one for free if you give them a call or email them.

I've got the adapter, but i have no means of injecting the grease. I guess they make a "bicycle" grease gun that is supposed to work, but really don't want to buy one. I tried a little plastic syringe and that fitting but couldn't exert enough force to make the grease go in.

It appears that they mean the typical "bike" grease guns that most tubes of bike grease screw into. These are pretty nice, and might be worth the 12.00 investment.
If you don't want to spend the bucks, I'll bet your LBS mechanic would squirt 'em for you, if you asked nicely...

Egg beaters aren't complicated to take part then reassemble. It's probably just as easy to take it off the spindle and go from there. That's the way I've always done it...

I'd say your choices are:
Buy the grease (sounds like you have that) and the gun. Maybe $15. And some time.
Or, just have your favorite LBS fix you up real quick. Of course, the ever present danger of walking into a good bike shop is the difficulty in leaving empty handed.

Okay, I have been waiting all day for someone else to post the obvious response. Use PAM cooking spray or vegetable oil.;)

Edit: anyway, as mentioned, they are really easy to disassemble and lube "manually", without the grease gun. You cannot use a standard automotive grease gun with the fitting that Crank Bros. supplies; they use a "needlepoint" fitting (you just insert the gun needle and press it there as opposed to automotive types which kind of clamp on). Sure, you can get them for about $15 + shipping but with a commonly available socket you can just take the whole thing off, clean the spindle & inside of the sleeve, re-grease the spindle, and have it back on. It's really not too hard.

Not sure if the tip size would be small enough, but....
Instead of buying a grease gun, I use a cheapo plastic syringe I bought at the drugstore. I will say that this can be a bit messier than a gun and not nearly as precise, so I'll probably buy a gun someday. For now, the syringe works pretty well.
