Yes! Let's get more people arrested!

Time trials and bus routes just GO together, rolls off the tongue.
I like the idea of a non-bar because then I can come.
+1 to the bus route.

bus route is asking for trouble. there's been an increased presents of "authority figures" down there the last few times I've used it to cut through town. I ain't no square, but I'm not in the mood to deal with drunk kids who thinks it's fun to be a smart ass to cops, and when they get arrested for tresspassing on federal property, their friend thinks it's a good idea to lie to the cop and tell them their wife works for the FBI (or was it secret service) to try to "make" them let the guy go.

Oh, and there's construction there now too.

Man, down here getting a "Lake-FRONT! Lake-FRONT!" chant going is pretty much how every party comes to an end, whether it's 3am or 9pm. Sooo nice to just sit out there and knock some down, 'specially if there's a moon.
howevah... The bike cops have started rolling the path, I don't know how late they go but I definitely saw them at like 7:45 the other day. I wasn't here last year, but I know a bunch of people who got ticketed out there in May. Any seasoned lakefront swillers got good beta on this?

05-04-06, 08:57 AM
mm.. the point is good for a CP, bad for hanging out. if the fuzz comes, our only out is to swim.
the last time a group of us went to the lake we were at this awesome area with the big step stones.. i want to say it was just north of lincoln park. at any rate it's tricky to find, so let's just meet up somewhere inland and ride as a group.

I was thinking Promontory Point, but north side would be easier for me.
Moximitre
05-04-06, 09:02 AM
the rocks are right by that house thing off the lakefront trail. lincoln park sounds about right.
the point is in hyde park. there are tons of places near southside we can go along the lake. i vote for the southside, not because i live there but because the police and people presence is not as great. even my mccormick place there are a few good places.
you all know you end up following me anyway.
Landgolier
05-04-06, 09:57 AM
The point also offers a convenient 1/2 mile (ok I'm guessing here) track, but the problem is it's close enough to LSD that the man sees you before you see the man. There's that whole section south of McCormick where there are the giant step things down to the water, but I'm always paranoid at night that the exact spot I pick to go over the edge is going to be right where somebody decided to get it on.

What say we meet on the north stairs of the Field Museum at 9:30 and go from there...?
why does everything have to start so astericking late?
at 9:30 the nyc boys and i may already be at skylark full of tater tot love. and skylark burger love. yum. meat and onion rings and coleslaw and tatertots and bell's on tap.
The area we were last time was just north of Fullerton, there is that little bridge at Fullerton then some gravely path then the rocks.
South side is generally empty and peaceful.
9:30 at Field sounds good.
Cardstock, are my sunglasses still in your car from ages ago? Can you bring them? Thanks.
okay maybe things seem late since i get up at 4-5AM every morning.

i'm kind of with you, actually. earlier lakefront + earlier skylark = equals food in me hungry belly and less
crowded. plus, i'm astericking old.

Just to clear it all up: the red "x" is on the north stairs. The green arrow is the lakeshore path, southbound. Those coming from the south will have to navigate for themselves.

OK here's the plan. This is an early nighttime raid. Primary targets are two nuclear fuel depots Here...and here. The west approach is protected by hardened gun emplacements here, here and here. Following the guns is a wide trench filled with alligators and toxic waste. We'll be dropping onto the east side of the grounds via a high-altitude parachute drop. Avoid hostiles, as there is a gala event in the museum at the same time. Take out the targets and return to the LZ for extract. Oh, and wear your standard-issue spy tuxedos in case we have to blend in with the partygoers.
Any questions?
