Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. For some people LX is a god send. Cheap and good...who woulda thunk...:D
I have to say that is a nice looking bike. I really prefer the vt or ac series though. :)

Yah but I for some reason think Fubar has top of the line. I dunno.

Buy cheap, upgrade later. The frame is made out of the same stuff as the high end NRS.

that is nice fubar. Like you i'm with buying as it breaks b/c no matter what bike you buy you're always gonna tweak it to your liking. With my bike i only have 3 stock parts: the fork( Fox Float RL), cassette, stem, seat. the stem and seat will be gone by next year.
I think the NRS is the best system at eliminating bob out there and it's got alright goods from the get-go
GOOD LUCK!
You don't want that piece of crap. Since I'm such a nice guy, I'd be willing to take it off your hands

Just outta curiosity... why did Giant make the chainstays so low?
Why couldn't they of put them up closer to the seat stays? ...
it woulda made it look even cooler :D

So they would not have to pay Specialized for using the Horst Link.
Sweet bike. The first real mtn bike I ever rode was a Giant rigid bike I rented at Winter Park, co. I was hooked from that day on...

they put the pivot so low so there wouldn't be any chain slap issues with it unlike the FSR's and they still did pay specialized for the patent

You'll love it Fubes! I've got a NRS2. It was LX originally and was flawless in it's shifting. I wore it out and replaced with XT. No real difference that I can tell. And you're right about the frames; they are the same as the higher-end NRS's. Just better components in the higher end bikes.

A few upgrades and you will have your self a very nice rig. The NRS series ride nicely.

ya it is 4, but i consider getting a new frame as getting a new bike entirely, so as parts go it's only 3:rolleyes:
I'm really kicking myself in the butt for getting a new road bike instead of a new MTB. :crash:
Fubar, fubar, fubar, when will you learn. While road biking is alright, mountain bikes will [B]always be cooler. Well anyway, save up your pennies
I don't think I ever will. I go through phases, sometimes I'll be crazy about road biking and that is all I want to do, and then overnight it will switch to MTB, and all I want to do is MTB. I actually haven't recieved the bike yet, and as far as I know Specialized hasn't shipped it. I may be able to switch my order to a Stumpjumper or something.
In my opinion, road and mtn bikes compliment each other, both in fitness and in feel. Mountain biking is more all or nothing, while road is smooth and steady. My problem with road riding is that I tend to dip in the well to often and bonk. I don't remember ever bonking on my mtn bike. I know after mtn biking season ends, and road season starts I am always surprised how smooth my road bike feels.

Plus they also designed the bike this way because of their NRS system (No Resonance System) which tops out the shock to combat bobbing. And you are correct, they still had to pay Specialized for the patent.
