I posted a pic of the pre op Zeus, now its post op but still needs work.. anyways here it is right after i got everything together. Needs to be cleaned up cough glue off bars.

15x53 *****es! i cant get the big chain ring off its like held on by these inner bolts and outer ones wtf. I cant even get a socket into the crack arm bolt to take it off.

It actually belongs to my other conversion, I'm going to have to buy another wheelset/or rear wheel and use the a front wheel I already have. I want to keep this bike sorta "vintage" I was thinking of putting some brown leather bar tape. Or not.

I dont know that that means?? Cotter pin holding it together?? Its like a 15mm bolt, but the crank arm around it doesnt have enough clearence to fit a socket on the bolt.

what about keeping the large chainring and buying a bigger rear cog?

get a pedal/15mm wrench bike tool. $15 at lbs? Well worth it, for many apps.

and a chainring bolt tool. and a hex key set.

You'll need a thin-walled socket to take off the crank-arm bolt. No wrench that isn't a socket wrench will do any good. It looks like those cranks are the kind where the big ring is the spider, and the smaller rings bolt to it. Maybe a better picture would help?

Cottered crankarm basically uses a wedge to hold the crank to the BB axle. They're a pain to remove, although the only specialty hardware you need is a good hammer and 2x4.

Doesn't sound like what you have, though.
