...sort of. A friend called me that her messenger boyfriend needs a guy to replace him on days he wants to take off (how do they say that in English?).
Yee haw!!! Just the kind of job I've wanted for 3 or 4 years now. Always thought messengering would be fun (Being paid to ride around in the city? Are you kidding me???) but not as a full-time long-term job. Especially not while I'm at university.
The guy is the only messie of a sort of cultural centre, running to and from between their office and those of partners with contracts, bills and posters etc. So no big awkward heavy packages and wierd addresses (posters are not exactly small but manageable...) Less adventurous than at a courier company, but that's good for me as a first messing job.

6 hours, ok pay (by the hour), usually not many runs at all. Already did 2 days, tomorrow is no. 3. The job is like I expected: pretty fun as long as I'm given the correct address and things are running smoothly. Pretty tiring as well, but that's a plus actually.

Now I can justify (retrospectively) building my fixie and (possibly) buying a Bagaboo bag.

If you haven't realized yet, this is the kind of thread that has no meaningful point. You are now expected to say "Good for you".

Buda's got some hills...or are you in Pest most of the time? I guess you'd be used to riding it anyway.

Well, I live and study in Pest where most of the city is anyway... part of the reason why I ride a fix. But the company I work for is situated in Buda so I do have to do a bit of climbing 2 or 3 times a day. Not too bad, though. Been here?

The best part of this whole thread is that a Hungarian said "yee haw".

sooo funny. A 20-odd year old spanish bloke who taught me at uni was also stoked we have spas and baths... ("Un lujazo") We were like "yeah, right". Who ever goes to a bath? At home you have the frickin' sea and it's 25+ °C from may to september and you want our baths???
It's nice for old people and fixedgear riders who have back and joint pains... hold on a sec! I should go to the baths:D
