We have had a bio and pic forwarded for the Rogue's Gallery from someone NOT QUITE YET 50. (This person is only 48!) BUt this person WAS honest and admitted their weakness.

So, what to do?

I would hate to pollute the "regular" 50+ portion of the RG with someone who could be our kid brother/sister tagging along with the "big guys!"

So, I am proposing setting up page 8 as a special "kid brother/sister" section until these folks grow out of their training diapers and reach the mature age of 50.

Any thoughts? :D

My opinion is, 50 is a state of mind. If that person wants to be part of the 'oldsters' group, let them go for it. He/she will be here legally soon enough! (Still trying to find a good pic to submit.)

I'm with you BlazingPedals. I have a feeling we're not going to be flooded with too many young'uns. But I'd defer to whatever the Fox wants to do.

It would be easiest just to include these young'uns like everybody else - that would save me work.

So, I will go with that, seeing no violent opposition to including children in the gallery!

Since I am only 49.22 years old, I had avoided the temptation to submit to the gallery.... Now I know the option is open to "jump the gun" and enter at a young age...

The flood gates have been opened!

Perhaps, like any other fraternity, we could have a pledge hazing, rite of passage thing which would include guzzling a gallon of Geritol and swallowing a fresh tube of patch glue. Provide us a video-tape of themselves riding naked through an intersection.

"Elistist Bastard" should be harder to attain. Longer time members like myself are still trying.

I say we make 'em pay for jumping the gun - - some properly demeaning header that will scare away the faint of heart :D. Nobody likes to be labeled a wannabe, so maybe page 8 could be "Snot-Nosed Wannabes." Or maybe do it geologically . . . if we're the Precambrians, they could be the Paleozoics.

So it is possible that I and others might actually live to this ripe old age and still be able to type and chew gum at the same time? Oh thank you, masa, for giving all us diaper-clad folks hope and something to strive for!!! :D

One word: Bribes. I'd say if they're willing to... say...pony up a piece of pie for every over 50 Rogue member, let 'em in.

I guess that this means I'll have to send my bio and pix now.

OKAY, after listening to all and considering my workload, we will post the 50-'rs just as the 50+'rs. Otherwise, I would have to keep track of when folks turned 50, and I just don't want that chore!

10% clergy discount????? I haven't seen one of those since--- NEVER! Possibly "my state of mind" (or lack there of) has not been in the right place? Or the workload has been to heavy? Have any of you conducted two funerals in less than 24 hours plus a third sermon on Sunday morning? That alone put two years on me last Friday and Saturday. Give a guy a break! The doctor didn't when he ordered a colonoscopy THREE years early.

Bob, aka. "Snot-Nosed Wannabe," "kid brother," "honorary old fool," not an "Elistist Bastard," "probation(ary)" pleab, "pollute(r) monster," while striving "to be part of the 'oldsters' group." :p

Just a technical point. I am a PK (Preacher's Kid). If I am older than the Preacher how will that work? Is this a theological question?

Dnvr, you know, since you've laid out the pages using tables, you could easily put a colored border around the sub-50'ers, or do their bios with a pink background (or some other appropriate color).

Bob, aka. "Snot-Nosed Wannabe," . . . OK, OK! Yer in man! I was only funnin' anyway. Hey, Pastor Bob, I just read your bio and I love the sweet ride! I've got a red Traveler that I picked up in near-mint condition at a moving sale for $5. It's my road-trainer for DH racing. Do you have any pre-existing posts on the updates you did to yours? I'd be interested in knowing the details.

I do not know if it is just me that has noticed it- but It does appear that we have some real young people viewing and sometimes responding on the 50+ forum. From some of the responses, they seem to be aged about 11 or 12. Just the other Day there was someone posting that can no way be over 50 with the rides and training he does. Think his name is Well Done Will or something along those lines. Think we ought to insist on a picture of the Rogue to confirm that they have started shaving and a copy of their Birth certificate would not go amiss. And a donation to Irma's to put up with her having to run the Virtual Cafe.

Then I would have to change it back when they got 50 - unless someone has an automatic program where I could preset changes based on dates!

No thanks.

I am thinking of a special honor when folks turn 65.

IMHO, the average age of the 50+ group is getting lower and lower as we attract more kiddies!

Those of us who have "been around" a bit need some special recognition, if not a new forum for 65+ (moderators, that is a joke).

Obviously. The prerequisite of being an "elitist bastard" is to be able to spell it!

BP,

I just cut and pasted from another post. I wondered how long it might take for someone to notice. But the typo does sort of tell what kind of work I'm in. But the point is that I'm not one (an "elitist bastard"). And BTW, my mustache is thick and full grey hair. Does this help my cause any?;)

I not only walk like Walter BRennan did in the morning, my joints are also audible from acroass the room until I get warmed up. I also have to concentrate to avoid grunting when I get out of my chair.

By the time I take care of all of these issues by losing weight, I will be qualified by age anyway. :D

I did see "The Real McCoys" on TV in the last few years... but the quality was obviously lower than when I first watched the show. It seems to have been kept on film which had degraded over time, or I have become spoiled by the modern technology.

Pastors, even Protestant ones, automatically receive a free ticket to bypass purgatory! :p We either automatically head north or south, it just depends on how many people we offend with blithering political nonsense, etc. If we keep our politics to ourselves we fair much better. :D (I hope!)
