Hello All,
This is my second try at this - I got some invalid messge when I went to preview my last attempt and lost everything I typed - so lesson learned and this is typed offline and saved till successfully entered. If your reading this - success! If not, get off my PC.

I am a "used to biker" who moved to KY after retiring from Lucent Technologies 5 years ago. When I lived in Joliet I took my 12 speed Panasonic up and down the I & M Canal bike path. This time of the year I'd be stopping often to pick Mulberries. Here where I live in KY, it is not a hospitable bike area. For one thing when it gets hot here it is deadly. Two of the three directions I can go have hills that are just hard too even walk up. But all the narrow winding hilly roads are not safe because of the speeding oncoming idiots who often are encroaching in your lane as they are not capable of negotiating the tight turns at high speed while talking on there phones and/or picking their noses. I got hit last year in my car and I am lucky to be alive.

But my friend has told me of this forum for some time. He is no doubt very pleased with it and he sent me a link to the latest post from erraticrider of the NYTimes article on Federal Study Finds Accord on Warming.

That hooked me and I joined. Right up my alley. I've gone "Man Made Climate Change" mad. Any and all information is not enough for my money. We got a possible Tipping Point around the corner and I just don't think we can get enough people to get the real picture in time to make the adjustments needed. I consider it a top priority for us all. But this is just my intro so I won't get on my soap box here.

Don't know what else you'd care to hear, so I'll close. My emails all end with the following signature and I hope that is something that is allowed in the postings. If not just give me a tap on the shoulder and let me know.

Welcome Thisplanet.

Retired?? What's that?? I'm 61 and may get to retire one day in the not too distant future. http://users.pandora.be/eforum/emoticons4u/crazy/086.gif

Sounds like Ky is about as safe a place to ride as Atlanta. :( Keep at it and conditions may get better.

I like your signature. If you want it to automatically show as your signature, make the text a little smaller, then go to "User Control Panel" (top right), then click "Edit Signature".
Most BF users have their signatures set up this way. Saves a lot of typing or copying and pasting.
