Commuting - Things ChrisL knows NOTHING about...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

...necessities for winter commuting by bike. Like:
Tyres
Inner tubes
pump
skid lid
chamios shorts
gloves
tights
Wind jacket
polypro (wicking) clothing
layers
panniers
glasses
balakava
boots
socks
turtle necks
chapstick
vaseline
arm warmers
just to name a few necessities that come to mind...
Things ChrisL needs to remember:
...keeping the bike upright...

There is not a lot Chris L can say to this.
Actually, there are a few of these things that I do use, because we get the occasional cool morning here (incredible, but true!), and I do find a need for panniers in all kinds of conditions (does anyone want me to write an article on keeping the contents cool in blistering heat?)

Sorry, Naisme, I was having fun and forgot my etiquette.
(Truth be told, it doesn't really get cold here, either...)
Chris,
It looks like this. It was very warm today on 31DEC'02 - about +2 degrees Celsius.
But I cycled in this gear with -7 degrees Celsius a week ago.

Now you're making me jealous!

Sorry, I was having fun too, and really over stepped my etiquette. It is finally getting icy and snowy here.
