Afternoon, all!

Sometime ago, I saw a photo of a bike with an unusual, but very cool head badge. It was a handy-dandy bottle opener, made to fit the bike exactly. It was NOT a run-'o-the mill bottle opener that was welded, bent, hammered, drilled, etc to fit.

Anyone know where to pick one up, if they exist at all?

Thanks!

Other than looks and extra weight what's the point?
My SPD's are perfect for opening beer bottles.

Enjoy

Went to wally world the other night to get a cheapo wallet. They had a velcro wallet with a bottle opener that snaps to the outside.

Anyways I second the SPDs.

what happened to just using a lighter? ...or better
yet, just break off the neck against your top tube.

Thanks for the pictures and links! I can't find the original picture for the life of me, but I got some cool ideas. This little addition is purely for cool points, btw. Also, I find the spd cleat idea intriguing, I'll have to try it out!

Thanks again!

you guys don't just put the lip of the cap on something flat and solidly anchored (window sil, door jam, anything) and smack down on the cap with the heel of one hand while holding the bottle with the other?

Semi-horizontal dropouts (like on most conversions) and trackends can do the trick too, assuming the axle isn't right to the end. My personal favorite is a sturdy ring (on your finger, not the bike), but it has to be a tough material.

You're a lot less likely to break stuff if you press down on the cap and use the bottle as a lever. Me, i just use my teeth.

Not that bridge that fell down and all the engineer vowed that they would never let that happen again and made rings to this day from...

Yeah, probably not, but I like the story. Makes me want to be an engineer.

a cone wrench is my personal favorite. a few months ago i built my friend bike with bottle opener rear track ends and they have come in handy a few times too.

I did that one night and it worked pretty well until the 6th or 7th beer and my coordination began to fail. I was opening one in this manner and the top of the bottle ripped clean off and there was foam and lost beer everywhere.

Lesson: Don't be silly and waste beer.

ive been told that David Wilson Industries (DWI) of seattle has a bottle opener headbadge on his customs.

I looked on the gallery page of his website and didn't see any evidence of one, so maybe it's bull****.

Try emailin him http://davidwilsonindustries.com/

Sometimes beer bottles don't have twist-off caps. Having a bottle opener on your bike allows for easy access to the contents of the bottle.

I thought that much was obvious.

LOL! Obviously, someone isnt much of a drinker. Who are you or anyone else to juge anyones bike mods anyway? I say to each his own. I just happen to like this mod, and I think it would probably come in fairly handy for someone such as myself who likes to imbibe. :D

I can envision it as an attention getter/instant popular guy thing, in lieu of being all swole for the ladies.
