Do Oddy Evolvers come with levers?
I'm sick of riding dirt brakeless and after hearing how good Evolvers are I might go down and get some today, but I dont wanna use my stock tektro lever.

No they dont.
Look into the Odyssey Monolevers
They come in three sizes, kind of like ...oh well nevermind.

They don't(as Kenitik said), but you shoudl def look into the Odyssey Mono levers. I personally prefer the small.

Odyssey Linear.
And if you want to dish out $40 something, then look into the Nokon, its supposed to be very nice...

Another stupid question, I know they come with two sets of springs, what are they for? How easy are they to install, and mantain?
And I'll be running these on sun ZX-25 rim, what pads should I get?
Springs affect the response. Stiff spring means more resistance at the lever, lighter is the opposite.

Thanks.
Also, they say the set comes with the London Mod, I dont need to use this right? I can just run a single straight cable and a crossover cable right?
And what pads will get me the best modulation on a black rim?

Londom Mods are for Gyros, i beleive.
Yes, you can run a straight cable with your Odyssey brakes...

Ouch, I only had enough for the Evolver, came to $64.
I'm going back later for the lever and cable.
Haha! I got my Evolver for AU$40, which was US$30.

do you like your rims? I have those rims on my bike, and my plan was to upgrade them, but they seem to be holding up really good, so I think im gonna stick with them for a while.

No, I dont really like my rims that much, I'm upgrading my rear when I get the chance, and will eventually replace the front.
Also, I finally got it all put together and they work great, but the pads really suck so I'm getting a set of koolstops some time this week.
so far my bike is coming together quite well I think.
Frame- 2004 DK General Lee (white).
Cranks- Profile 175mm (not sure about model).
Wheels- Sun ZX-25, going to change the back one soon, it's cracked.
Tires- Back=Primo wall Front=K-Rad.
Brakes- Oddy Evolver and trigger Monolever with slic cable (all blue except the lever).
SeatPost- Voxom.
Seat- Stock DK.
Bars- Haro Slim in the raw finish.
Stem- Stock DK stem, flipped.
Pedals- Oddy Twisted.
Hubs- DK Macho.
Grips- Josh Stricker signature.

Get Odyssey 1X4 or 2X4. Much stronger posts & work just as good as koolstops.

1x4 comes stock on the evolvers does it not? and 2x4 is overkill

which was expensive as hell
CMcMahon
05-15-06, 08:53 PM
That's funny, because I'm looking at EmpireBMX right now, and the more expensive of Odyssey's seatposts, the Intac, comes in at a whopping twenty dollars.
Damn, that's really expensive when compared with a hundred dollar Thomson seatpost.

expensive? I thought you were sponsored? What free parts except seat posts?
Which explains why Odyssey is the greatest ever.
Dont even try denying it, Diamondback surpasses all. It comes from a much better brand than most surfaces after all.
Not to mention your 3.2lb Hi-Ten frame. Too bad you probably wont even find a 16" Hi-Ten frame that weighs that much. Oh, my bad, I must have forgotten. All you parts are custom made by your sponsor.

Specialized in what way? Did Moliterno piss on it or something?

Thomson seatposts arent worth it, just get an Odyssey or Fit (there both light, like the Thomson, and alot cheaper)
