I figure if the weather is not too bad, and it is not too far away, why not, better than driving a car while impared, or is this just a bad idea?? has anyone ever done it before?.

I'm bringing my bike to the party, so I can crash there and go to my New Year's ride staight from it. There's no way I'm riding home in the wee hours of the morning with my baby in a trailer, with all the crazy people on the roads. :)

We're all planning to ride with hangovers. :D I think there are eight of us going to a group ride together - we're all spending the night with our bikes.

I can't ride to the party coz, I am on Duty, its a kinda 24/7 work, so I am stuck in my apartment. attending to emergency of the tenants.
I shall follow my standard New Year's routine: retire at my usual hour (9 p.m.), then head out at first light on a 40km ride on Coast Highway 101.
I rode my two wheeled giddy-up to the store to buy two bottles of cheap champagne :-)

I've never done it before. I did consider going on a night ride, but with all the cop out and their "You know there's a bunch of drunks on the road tonight" propaganda, I feel it's better to just stay in.
I am going on a New Year's Day ride tomorrow. Just me, myself, and I.

I think their propaganda is probably pretty true on New Year's Eve.

The plan -- if weather permits -- is to do a 50 mile New Year's Day ride. (It's looking a little iffy out there right now, -- that's New England winter for you -- so I'll have to see what happens in the next hour or so before I make the call "to ride or not to ride.") As for riding with a hangover, Giant_racer, I've done it once, and found that riding was the perfect cure . . . Honestly! I started out feeling like hell, and by the time we'd gone 10 miles, you would never have known I was hung over.
BTW, I also discovered that riding is the cure for the common cold . . . Just about every time I feel a cold coming on (sore throat, tired, achy feeling, etc.) and I go ahead and ride anyway, the cold never actually takes hold! It's amazing! Like you just sweat all the germs and poisons out of your body, or something! Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon?

Well I kinda road to a party, I parked at my friends house where I was staying- we all drank there and then proceeded to ride about 2-3 miles downtown where all the festivities were. It was good times, I def. bonded with my new bike riding drunk off my butt last night.

Moderate exercise has been shown to stimulate the immune system, but severe exercise can depress it. Your "cure" for the common cold is probably OK. However, if I am running a fever, I drop back to very light exercise.

Last night we stayed in a hotel on the Coastal route near a music club in Solana Beach, Calif.. We walked to the music club. Usually, I see only a few night riders. On this coastal route several night riders passed us by as we walked to our club for a New Year's Eve party..
If only, we could have joined them on bringing 2003 in- on a bike tour, I am sure I would feel better today.. I liked my time and the music, but felt twinges of regret as the New Year's eve cyclists passed us by..
