Soo... at the shop down the street from my work (http://www.velobikeshop.com/index.html) they have a black GT track frame (a 56) in nice shape. From what I've been seeing here it looks like a GTB. Oddly, the fork has two sets of eyelets but doesn't have much rake. The fork does have a GT logo on it though. I'm not sure what the deal is with that.

Anyway... just thought I'd post it here if anyone's interested. Comes with pista bars of some kind (they were fully wrapped in black tape), a GT-branded saddle, and a generic-looking post. I didn't see what they were asking unfortunately.

My fork has no eyelets, and it is steel. Are the ones with the eyelets steel or AL?

Depending on the year the GT pulse came with a Kinesis made aluminum fork that was either GT or Kinesis branded. Neither fork had eyelets. I have one of each but I am not sure which is older.

this site says that the GTB forks from 1999 are chromoly. i'm not sure how to date the framesets, though.

GT probably got those forks with eyelets for cheap, or they had them left over from another bike that didn't sell or something. My GTB came with that fork, and that was in 1998. I don't think the frames changed over the years, just the fork.

The rest of the parts that came on that bike stank, except the sugino cranks and wtb bottom bracket. Oh, and the handlebars were okay. Everything else broke or wore out within a year.
