i am trying to figure out if its better (easier/less expensive) to take my bike on the plane or ship it? never done that before...

i hate to be such a dark cloud.. but why not just see it when it comes to l.a.?

Airlines charge 50 to 80 each way for a cardboard bike box or plastic hardshell. I know there are a few shops like trackstar who rent the freight baggage bike box that is under dementions for oversize, so no extra charge. or buy one and fly 3 times. it pays for itself.
