No, I do not have a little red star next to my name... So I do see the ads.

The most recent one is all about Bell Helmets... the ad pops up in the middle of the page and touts:

The 2006 Bell Helmets are now in...
And under $100.

So I click on the ad. Takes me right to the Bell motorcycle helmet page...

OK so then I back out and click on the link at the top of the BF page for bicycling helmets... found it... the prices start at $169. Go figure. Of course these are Giro, not Bell... but the shock was just laughable.

Motorcycle helmets for "under $100," yet the first bike helmets I see cost much more. Hello... Bike Helmet manufactures... it's just styrofoam! Sheesh!

My favourite so far has been the "Buy a Hummer3" whilst on the Living Car Free Forum.

Well, that IS the economy model...

Shoot, I love funny commercials. How do I lose the red star?

advertising really never bothered me all that much, and on bikeforums it is interesting to see how the ads change as the AdBot software reads the content of letters and changes the ads accordingly. I must admit though I am a Google-hater and so often click on Google-based ads and then never buy anything.

On another forums board I read, we were discussing "hummers" in quite a different context. It was hysterical to see ads for 'hummers' pop up as a result! $25,000 for a hummer...ya suppose Bill Clinton paid Monica that much?

Why not click on some links to these ads and post them for us red-stars to see?

I'm sure the sponsors won't mind... ;)
