Hi y'all,
I may be wrong but it seems to me that the folks who decided on this whole "middle age" thing should reconsider and push it out to like 60 or so. I mean heck, it seems I was only nineteen like not even twenty years ago! I'm too young!
Erm... anyway... the past few years I've noticed that there seems to be more of me than I remember there being before... except hair, of course. :p So when other late-30somethings might consider buying a sports car, or chasing younger women (seriously, are they nuts or what?) or going skydiving - I decided to buy a bike.
After some research, I narrowed my choices down to a few. I went to some shops and checked them out and last week brought home a Trek 7.3 FX Disc. I love it! So far I've only been commuting back and forth to work on it (it's only a mile and a half or so), but I've been trying to find new ways to take home to make the trip a little longer. As I get used to riding again, I hope to start doing longer duration rides and hopefully start reducing the amount of me I'm carrying around. I've been having a blast so far! :D
The forums look great too. There's a bunch of information here, and I don't know that you can get further down on the learning curve than I am now. So thanks for the answers to the questions I've had so far, and thanks in advance for the answers to other questions that I'm sure I'll have. :)
Cheers!
