just floating an idea.. What do members think of maybe 1-2 times a year- organizing a regional ride of BF members? Maybe like California, Nevada, Arizona B'Fers. Have one for each region that shares close proximity... that would be fun? The three states I mentioned- maybe we could meet in like Yuma? Wonder how many BF'ers there are in those three states.
Maybe like every 18-24 months, there could be a west coast BF get together ride in say in like Carson City, Nv for a greater area like Oregon to New Mexico?
Heck, probably many of us open up our souls/aspirations to our BF members than to many of our closest friends.. A relative small percentage of my closest friends share my cycling addiction. Maybe two days- 200 miles.. in a circle tour..? Lesser known organization members, have put together successful meets..
Heah, even a more interesting idea.? we Pacific Coast dwellers- from Seattle to Sydney could meet every fifth year and climb up Haleakala- are we up to it?

I only suggested Yuma as a central location because it is the CA, NV, AZ area.. It will be up to the New Englanders & say Quebeckers to name their own central location. No Yuma might be this regions choice- it is up to others in other locations to suggest their most convenient location.

I vote for Seattle or Portland.

Count me in for a SoCal meet... I'm in OC.. but anywhere semi-local would be good with me... I'm not the fastest, but I'd love the oppurtunity to ride with a group of people :-)

I'd enjoy meeting up... Not sure I got what it takes to climb any mtn, similiar to the one you mentioned. Palomar is still out of my abilities :)

I would suggest like there be a southwest ride- maybe CA, AZ, NV. Central spot there would be like Lake Havasu or somewhere. Mabye northwest... No. Ca, Oregon, Washington. like maybe area about Shasta area.. Maybe Ontario, Michigan, Ohio somewhere like around Toledo. New England and Quebec and so forth..
Vegas. I am thinking I will do the Death Valley ride march 3.. Probably the 100 miler..
Heah, we all get together. Joe can we slups, who did not get Forum jerseys- do so again.. I was a creep.. I have a closet full of jerseys-( my wife is in disbelief) and my favorite jersey did not win.. Sometimes we all can be sore loosers...

Vegas. Not sure, but if there is enough interest in a regional BF bike tour- maybe tagging along like with Planet Ultra's Death Valley ride- March 3- might put too much strain on them- if we have enough interest... that is to combine our BFers with someone else's tour...?

Heres an idea.
If you wanna be able to join with the Regional Ride, you must wear your BikeForums jersey!

Give me 6 weeks advance notice, i'll be there.
Death valley century sounds like a blast!!! Palm springs is a good choice :) Not to far away. Heard some killer hills going through death valley not sure if I could do those yet, but with a few months notice could try to find hills around here to practice on.
I was ecstatic the other day I climbed this one hill, probably small compared to most of you but I made it up all the way! Then going down I hit my max speed every 38Mph!! I'm sure this is nothing compared to some of you but was a triumph for me.

Today I sent an email to Planet Ultra to see how full their registration was.. I think they limit the event to 300 riders.. How many of we west coast forum members might want to do this event. I suspect Planet Ultra will not want this event to become a BF Forum event? Maybe would should poll ourselves to see how many might attend the Death Valley ride on March 1... Plus, housing is limited at Death Valley. Easter time is a very busy season anyway..
I know I would love to do it give me something to train for :) Only reservation I have about saying I would definately be their and do it, is I lost my job right before thanksgiving, and still looking right now. So hard to say what my job will have me to do etc..

World IRC. Should we ever evolve into Regional BF Rides, I think we all need to wear BF jerseys.. I want one.. It was just my jersey did not win, thought we would not ever all meet in a ride, and my wife fumes when she counts my jerseys in the closet.. We ever ride as a group once in awhile- I will just have to cause my wife to shake her head a little more, when she opens my sports closet..
I gave a coule jerseys away for Christmas- still have 27.. I have more jerseys than shirts in my regular wardrobe closet. Run out of clean clothes, I might have to wear a jersey to work.
Joe we all meet on some future ocassional ride, maybe we might badger you to see if any more can be ordered.. You are not a part of a group ride, if you don't have a group jersey..
Meeting various on-line "forum pals" would be great fun. My current work schedule is very demanding, but I might be able to get away for a day or two, or might be able to participate in a San Diego or Orange County event.

Umm, yah. In Ontario, we have the Waterfront trail. It goes for like 150km or something very big. Not sure exactly. It goes from like Hamilton to Oshawa.
