What sorts of pre-ride checks do you do?

Me:

After I THINK I'm all packed up, I first "police the area" - make sure I haven't left any trash (or more likely my cycle-computer) at the current campsite, then...

Spokes, Hubs and Tires
Zippers, Clasps, Bungees, and Pannier attachments
Brake check
And finally making sure I've reset the comp and have the right tunes on the handlebar speakers ;)

I'm a little sketchy in that department. I think there still must be 10 or 15 towels hanging around youth hostels that I forgot to pack.

First I review the aircraft's forms. Then I look the fuselage over for any evidence of prior damage or loose panels, check the wheel wells for leaks, popped DPIs and disconnected cannon plugs. Then it's on to checking the servicing of the hydraulic systems, CSD, EPU and LOX. That's all before firing her up for BIT checks of the flight controls and other systems.

Oh,,, I'm on the touring forum, aren't I? :p

Well, after my tour through Utah and Colorado I always check to see that I haven't left 50 ft of new line attached to the tree I had my food suspended from. :(

Then there's tire pressure. After breakfast, I review how much food is left so I know what, if anything I need to buy that day.

i get all packed up 100%, then do an 'idiot check' of the cooking area and campsite before leaving.

tire pressure, chain condition -lube /no lube?- by a quick backpedal. Brake check on the fly.
