I'm not looking for ideas to revive one, but if anyone has any ideas about that I'll take em.

This thread is looking for creative uses for creaky crank arms. for example: take a bench grinder to the bottom bracket end and make it into a nice letter opener.

Use it for seating and stressing relieving the spokes when you're building a wheel, like Sheldon Brown does (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/wheelbuild.html#seating).

... or you could make the world's strongest aluminum tent peg by grinding the pedal end into a point.
