I'm looking into a cyclocross bike to ride as my main bike, I will be riding on a local trail, not alot of real rough terrain but a fair amount of bumps and dips. My current roadmaster(lol) mountain bike rattles around alot on this trail though. So want i need to know is, how much can a cyclocross bike really handle?

also, my Dad likes to ride on the railroad track "road bed", through all the rocks. So it would need to be riddin there also.
