hmm... 32 mb and 'several minutes' of record time don't seem to be enough to record much of anything... a problem with my older digital camera was that after the video cut out the funny **** would happen.

but woot is awesome.

That's a 32mb SD card that it records to. You can get a 1 gig SD card for around $50, or use one that you have for a digital camera or something.

this probably records to "avi" (which isn't really even a format - it's a package for a variety of random ****), which doesn't play well with many mac video editing programs.

Yes. The HelmetCam takes a standard SD memory card, widely available at retailers. Please keep in mind that the maximum recording time for a single video is 15 minutes. Once 15 minutes is reached, the recording stops automatically. You are able to record as many videos as you can until the memory card is filled.

320x240 is your definition of HD? Buy away in that case.

Main downside: 15fps. Boo.

yeah. you can get 320x240 to look sorta fun. i directed a bunch of vids for a pretty big band. on one of 'em, i used the MOV mode on an old olympus 4MP still camera to record about half of the footage for the video. it was good enough for MTV, universal, fuse, much music. etc. and it was included on the band's last DVD.

quality snobs had better work exclusively in digi-beta or just fess up to the fact that fun is fun.

15 fps. That's frames per second, yes? That means that every second -- the time it takes to say "one one-thousand" -- the camera is going to capture 15 frames, yes?

Well, that may not be acceptable for all the professional, er, helmet cam videographers out there, but it'll work way fine for me.

I believe that video was shot at 640x480 at 15fps...so while the image is larger than the Hawk cam, it is the same fps as you would get.

super-8 film cameras generally shoot just fine at 18 FPS though many people prefer to shoot at 24 fps. some of you guys take specs too seriously.
