I'm looking to put on some aggressive tread on my new fixed gear stead, however, I'm running a 27" rim. Anyone know where i can pick up some 27" cyclocross tires?

Specialized used to make a tri-cross 27" but I havent seen them in years. I dont know of any current 27 inchers

Isn't 27" and 700c the same?

27 is slightly larger. So it looks the same until you try to mount a tire.

I'm pretty sure that the Tioga Bloodhound is an old cross tire.

I think that Vittoria may still make some 27" cross tires - they are green but hey you gotta do what you gotta do.

Green is not a problem, i'll keep my eye out for them. I found a pair of cheap 27" tires at my local k-mart (thanks for the tip Mike!), only $11, so i purchased two, they have reverse tread, so they role fast, but still get some grip.

IRC Cyclocross exists in 700 x 37 and 27" x 1 3/8". I got the 27" last Winter (i.e. Oct. 2001), and as far as I know, it still exists.

There is a tiny difference between both: the 700 has a narrow smooth line (not a ridge, just a 2-mm wide strip without knobs) whereas the 27" doesn't have any. If I remember correctly, the tire is about 38 mm wide x 38 mm deep.

Great tires in snow and decent on ice. Never tried in mud; we don't have that on Saint-Laurent Blvd.
