Saw this one in the road bike forum - it's like Mission Control at NASA!

I was just thinking a couple days ago how I hadn't ever seen anyone run mtn bike shifters on drops like that. Looking at the prices of road shifters vs. mtn shifters made me start to think... How's that work for ya?

A coworker of mine put his tiagra STI shifters on sideways on flat bars. It works pretty damn well, a lot better than the shimano dual control mtb shifters IMO.

I got the shimano shifters on drop bars on my hybrid, but I used to run along with that aerobars that now collect dust on my shed.

Surprisingly, the reach to the lever is just about right. Only problem is that the v-brake levers pull way too much cable for side-pull road calipers. I got an old Synchron dual pivot caliper for the back now and the braking feels a lot better. Still, I only did this because it was free.
