I have a set of Rolf Vector Comps on my Litespeed Classic - purchased from a Litespeed/Trek dealer on 2/19/2002. The rear hub has failed - the spoke pulled through the hub flange shearing off 1/2" of metal as it came through. The out of state dealer referred me to the LBS Trek dealer. He contacted Trek and they are refusing to honor the warrenty (which I have in writing) Do any of you know who the principals are at Trek? I need to contact a senior member of management to resolve this issue. Hope you can help. In the meantime I'm dead in the water. No wheel - no ride!

So,why aren't they honoring the warranty?

Rolf and Trek have parted company...Trek had manufactured the Rolf design for its own bikes, but has now entered into a partnership with Bontrager. Meanwhile, Rolf is back as Rolf Prima. Neither Trek nor Rolf, apparently, is willing to claim resposibility for the orphaned Rolf/Trek wheels.

That has nothing to do with Trek hnoring a legitimate warranty claim on the Rolf wheels, that were sold through an authorized dealer. The wheels being on a Litespeed, or an internet sale may be the sticking point.

I don't know if this will help you, but it might be a place to start.

Follow up. Finally got in touch with the correct people at Trek and they are replacing the wheel set. It will cost me freight back to Trek for the damaged wheel and frieght to me for the new set, but all in all the did the right thing. Just wanted everyone to know!
