Another update from the garage...
It's unbelievable how much easier it is to shift the gears with the flak jacket cables. I'd say about half the effort it used to require. I'm running a 3 year old beater Shimano LX Rear Derailleur and it works sweet! My old cables were 9 month old XTR type with standard housings. The new housings are very nice and match the Carbon Riser I got from Santa. Actually, the 1.5" riser, plus the increased travel of my Psylo over the old Judy made some new cabling necessary. I am going to get the flak jackets for the V-brakes for sure now.
