Road Cycling - I (h)ate love bugs

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Those pesky exhibitionist insects are now back out in force in my area. They have to be the most vile tasting free protein out there. I injested one (or is that two?) today as well as getting countless ones (twos?) in my helmet and even a pair in my ear. Nasty ... nasty ... nasty ... Yuck ... yuck ... yuck. I guess this is the cosmic payback for having a whole "winter" of nice riding conditions. Us southeastern US riders know what these things are. Everyone else should count their blessings. (The spring wildflowers were spectacular, though. Not a totally yucky ride.)

I prefer eating unflavored barium for an x-ray. Or even vegemite.

We usually see a swarm of them in April but, so far, I haven't seen any this year. (He says as he looks for wood to knock on.)

For me, it's easier to injest insects here:
