Mountain Biking - SRAM 7.0 Brakes - Avid 1.9 Levers

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Ok. I admit it. I've been away from biking for quite a while. So the bike does not have V's on it. And, I've actually never ridden anything but Cantis for brakes (a brief affair with a under the frame U-brake - let's not mention it). So, in the wonderful world of closeouts, I justified the purchase of SRAM 7.0 brakes ($7) and Avid 1.9 levers ($15). Can't be worse than the LX cantilevers on the bike now - that's the theory. So... any opinions on either of those products? Anybody used/have them? I'm just waiting for them to arrive in the mail.

I think you'll be much better off, as long as they're compatible (I'm sure they are...). I have avid single digit's and arch rival 4.0's and love them. I think Sram makes some pretty tuff stuff too!
Glad your getting back into it :)
Good Luck!
Mike
