Hotline OK’d for Bicyclists to Report Aggressive Drivers
State Patrol’s “Star CSP” Cracks Down on Unsafe Drivers

Bicyclists have a new tool to help make Colorado’s roads friendlier to bicycling.

The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) confirmed that its hotline to report aggressive driving is available to bicyclists if they see a motorist putting a bicyclist at risk.

The phone number is Star CSP (*277) when dialed from a mobile phone. Thanks to a State Patrol partnership with mobile phone companies calls to this hotline are free.

This is great! Does anyone know whether there is a jurisdictional limit? Will they take calls about incidents on non-state highways?

EDIT: I should have said "if they don't occur on a state highway or an interstate."

Or at least local, by state.

According to the website I referenced: "Bicyclists can report aggressive driving from any road in Colorado, not just a state highway."

I used it this morning to report a driver who attempted to eductate me with his brakes and horn.
I hope his desire to educate the poor cyclist who was taking an entirely unused lane to prevent buzzing, backfires in his face. Or at least a nice letter from the CSP would make me happy.

Not worth it for $10..$15+ /month. Rather spend money on Oakleys.
