Just picked up a pair of gloves that run on d - cell batteries. They work very well. On ice cold days, my hands are toasty warm. I now carry an extra set of cells for back up. Another big improvement for my winter commutes -- ski goggles. I wear a full lycra head/face mask, and the goggles fit right around the opening, no facial exposure at all.

Nikos, where do the batteries go? I've seen the gloves in some flyers, and thought they looked like a good idea. How do they work - 1 D cell for each hand? Any idea on how long you get from each battery?

The d cell (one per glove) goes right on the top of the glove. Example: when the gloves are on, the battery would be right where your watch would be on your wrist. Not sure the length the battery lasts. Ill find out, but the heat comes out through coils in the glove - works really nice.
