Rain + hole in road = bad news.
Not a pothole really, but a 2 foot by 2 foot square cut into the road and left uncovered has left me with a damaged frame.
I crashed but aside from some bumps and bruises I'm ok.
I got home, cleaned up and went to true my front wheel and check out the bike. the wheel will live but will need a new rim when I can get one. ok no problem.
When I went to remount the wheel it wouldn't sit right in the fork. Great..I need a new fork. :( Rigid MTB fork, not a biggie.
Well i went to check the headtube/downtube junction. Big problem. I see cracked and chipped paint...and...oh no, a bulge on the underside. Not broken apart, but I don't trust it at all. Only 2 months old but it served me well...
OK...no more whining. It's time to start scouting for a new frame.
