I met Travis at the spring Veloswap here in San Diego, and I liked what he had to offer. My Chrome Metropolis was proving too slim for my day to day needs, so I ordered a Large Deluxe Sling.
The bag arrived yesterday, and boy I'll tell you what, this thing is super rad.
It's almost too deep, I'm afraid I am going to fall into it's cavernous mouth and not be able to climb out.
OK, it's not that deep, but it's at least twice the depth of the Metropolis. Basically, this bag is exactly what I was looking for.
The Large Sling is not as polished as my Chrome Metro. There are no fancy seatbelt style buckles, no reflective straps, no top secret stash pockets... but the lack of refinement is more than made up for in utility, funtionality, and weight.
A true messenger bag for messengers.
I love my new bag.
Thanks Travis!
Good that you found a bag for your needs.
Pics if you can post them ,will be great to see.
Post the after action report. How well it is holding up,etc.
DeSantis ..the only true messenger bag for messenger..IMHO.
S/F,
CEYA!
Hey, I was at that Swapmeet too! I liked the look of his bags, and almost got one, but I only had enough for the smallest one, and it was no bigger than what I already had, and didn't have a stabilizer strap. I held off and jsut ordered a RELoad bag. But yeah, those Freights are quite nice. Enjoy it!

not too much cash. I'm living the simple life; no car, no television, no computer (I'm using my brother's to type all of this), no i-pod. Blah Blah Blah.
The knickers were a gift, plus I work at the local independent bike shop, so I get big breaks with EP on stuff.
But then again, the only things I really spend money on is bike junk and music crap.

My lady friend rocks one. She likes it swell.
I have a small Freight shoulder, its larger than the Timbuk2 L I had previously, and fits better while riding. Travis is really easy to deal with - he is getting ready to launch a site (http://freightbaggage.com/)
built for working class folks, the smartist bags out now. super hand made one at a time by travis. also check him out in the mash video. the guy kills it!

This seems like it would break your back. I've ridden with a 12 and 6 pack at the same time, plus a good handful of other stuff in my banjo bros bag and it wasn't particularly pleasant. 18 bottles of wine can't be fun.

Yeah, one glance should tell you it's not a serious load. I took that photo purely as an illustration. Riding like that would probably break both your back and your wine. That's about $400 of wine in the photo :).

The point was, there's a phone number and an email address on the website -- just ask Travis yourself.

just saying- a quick update on the site or someone posting here that he is or isn't taking new orders would save a lot of "omg dood r u taking ne mor orderz for teh awsomest bike bags now? kthxby."
emails. and travis responding to such innane emails, when he could be making bags. and no one uses phones anymore.
